Summer brings its own challenges for all our vehicles: Don't let sunlight, bugs or lack of fun ruin your car or truck's summer months! Instead, check out these great summer additions to bring out the best in your driving plans.

1.      Window Tinting
The hot sun isn't kind to cars. If it isn't making them too hot to comfortably hop in and drive or see through on bright days, it's doing slow but persistent radiation damage to your vehicle's interior. Window tinting is a long-term solution that's particularly well suited for hot environments or regions where summer tends to last a long time. These tints help improve visibility when driving during the day, add some extra privacy, and can help increase the longevity of interior materials.

Note on window tints: General anti-glare or sun tints should be fine. However, if you are considering a broader tint across all windows, states do have regulations concerning what tints are allowed within their borders.

2.      Bug Shields
Spring and summer also tend to bring out the bugs. This is particularly annoying when combined with the summer heat, which means bugs splat against your vehicle and then fry there, making them much more difficult to remove and eventually leading to permanent damage. If you've been annoyed by clouds of bugs on the road before, investment in a bug shield is probably worth it. While this shield doesn't protect your entire car, it does a lot to help defend your hood and windshield, and installation is a snap.

3.      Audio Amps
There's nothing like turning the sound up on a fun summer day – but you need speakers that can handle it first! If you real want the extra sound boost for tailgating or other entertainment, then consider buying an audio amplifier. These amps are a great choice if you already have a good sound system (especially one with a subwoofer) but need something extra to really get the sound out there.

4.      Car Covers
Car covers help protect against the sun, bugs, and other problems we've already talked about. They are especially useful if your car has to spend a long time out in the sun (multiple days) without any shade to protect it. However, it's important to find

5.      Power Inverter
A power converter changes your car's battery into 110-volt AC power so that you can plug in more traditional devices. Much like audio additions, this is a great customization for tailgating, picnicking, or other types of entertainment. Everyone appreciates a charge to recharge phones or Bluetooth speakers, and the inverter can be used for a variety of other devices as well. If you love taking your vehicle out on weekends or evenings and hanging out beside it for hours, an inverter can be a surprisingly valuable addition.
